Reference / QUBICENGINE HANDBOOK

Built from curiosity

Otisius is the creator identity behind QubicEngine. This site connects the joy of making worlds to the engineering that makes them work.

Otisius and QubicEngine#

QubicEngine is the engine identity; Otisius is the creator identity. This site is an engine showcase, a guide to modern graphics, and a connected implementation handbook. It makes the ideas accessible before asking a reader to study the native API. The visual identity keeps the previous site’s navy, pale blue, and cyan palette, but the architecture is now organized around DirectX 12 as the primary backend and Vulkan as the secondary backend. OpenGL belongs to the project’s earlier public description rather than this handbook’s primary implementation journey.

What this documentation represents#

The technical articles use a completed reference design with consistent module names, ownership rules, and rendering choices. They describe how that design operates in the present tense. They do not claim every example is verified code from a repository, or invent shipped versions, release dates, benchmarks, testimonials, or downloads of a finished engine binary. The browser labs are interactive illustrations. The C++20 DX12 teaching sources are separate minimal examples. They were reviewed in a Linux authoring environment and require Windows compilation and runtime validation. The Vulkan track supplies detailed architectural guidance and labeled excerpts, rather than a claimed compiled executable.

Source and connections#

The live site’s HTML was inspected during this rebuild. Public repository contents could not be fetched from the authoring environment, so no repository history or implementation details were assumed. The delivered source is prepared for review; no live-site replacement or publication was performed.

Reading and verification#

Begin with the basics, explore the architecture, or build the teaching samples. Official Microsoft and Khronos documentation is linked at the relevant native API chapters. The delivery README records the checks performed and their limits.
